DSU Students Design Financial Planning App
At RobustWealth, we’re constantly looking for new opportunities to make a positive impact on our local community and empower future generations with financial literacy.
That’s why we jumped at the chance to participate in a first-of-its-kind student competition at this year’s T3 Advisor Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In the two months leading to the conference, students from four universities across the country paired with leading financial technology firms to develop innovative investment management, compliance, and financial planning solutions.
Five members of the RobustWealth team, including our Founder and CEO Mike Kerins, mentored four rock star students from Delaware State University. These students worked together to create a mobile financial planning app called Medi 4. The app was designed to help financial advisors more effectively consider healthcare expenses when building a retirement plan for clients.
Computer science majors worked seamlessly alongside business majors to bring this unique idea to life. The students’ intellect, grit, and determination shined during the contest, and we were thrilled to be a part of the process.
A round of applause to our awesome group of students for their hard work!
- Brian Thomas– Business Major with plans to be a financial advisor

Watching the next generation of money managers and technology developers work together got our entire group excited for the next chapter of digital wealth management.
